No. We will be if we don't get some better leaders and reorganize our priorities. But this country has been in far worse shape and has recovered.

I was recently complaining to my dad, who's almost ninety, about the state of the country. He said, "Don't worry. Democracy is a mess. It's always been a mess. This country has been a mess since its birth."

He can remember back before the Crash of 1929 and he's got a long perspective on things.

We are defiantly at our lowest point right now.

But i don't think it is irriversable. Once we finally get the troops back from Iraq and Afganistan and starting spending all that money on us, i think things will start to improve. That is so long as we don't go to war in Iran, China, North Korea, etc.

And once we get Bush out we will start to improve. If you have a president who is responsible, knows his powers and have a congress that doesnt spend billions of dollars on pure crap I think we could have a much better country.

I think we have better days ahead of us, but the question is, will our government finally step up and start doing its damn job?
