I've been to a doctor before and asked if I'm capable of having a baby and she said I'm capable of having one. My husband is capable and healthy too. But we have been trying for so long now but it's just not happening. I feel miserable coz I love children. What else can I do? Somebody please help me.

Show the world that you are a "step above", by not having children. Why do you need children?

In my opinion you won the lottery. You have the perfect excuse not to have children, and nobody will give you any problems over it. I had to get a vasectomy back when I was 21 (20 years ago), and then be labeled every since, because I chose not to have them. Had I, or my girl-friend had your excuse we would not be treated so harshly by society.

For the most people, having children, is as easy as checking their brain at the door, or breaking a condom. Don't you feel that you are above that?

Here is another thing to consider. If you become pregnant within the next year, then you will still have a child in the house when you are 58! If your child is leaning challenged, and the chances are pretty high, if you have a child at your age, then you are really asking to have a child in your home until you retire.

If you are over 35 and have been trying to conceive for more than a year then you need to see a fertility specialist, not just you GYN..there are many options out there, but time is not on your side so get busy and don't waste it. I had a tubal reversal of one tube to have my last child after other docs told me it wouldn't happen so don't lose hope and keep looking until you find a doctor that encourages you and shares your dream for a little one. Good Luck!

I too was (am) 39 when when I started trying to get pregnant. I ovulate just fine, however after more testing they found that my mucus wasn't good enough for my husband's sperm to get through. I had an hsg test to makes sure my tubes weren't blocked, my husband had a semen analysis, when both of those came back fine we had to go for a post coital test. Yes, we had to have sex then have a test to see if how many of his sperm had gotten to the cervix. It was low, so the next day he set us up for an artificial insemination. The first one didn't take, but the second one did. With the second one we had a shot of hcg, I truly believe that is what helped.

I think that because everything else about me was so healthy that it truly helped me to become pregnant so quickly with the help of a specialist. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and everything is going fine.

Good luck to you, please feel free to contact me via email if you'd like.

Be careful if you're using a lubricant... some types can stop the sperm from being able to travel! My parents wondered why they couldn't conceive after two children. They went to doctors and everything then finally found out it was the KY jelly they were using! What sort of Doctor did you go to? A Family Planning Clinic would be best. The best of luck xoxo

try going to one of the fertilty clinics and have them implant a sperm into your egg if you want to get pregnant soon or if you want to wait keep trying and stick you legs and butt up against a wall to keep the sperm in
