Because women don't like to be told things such as 'hey woman, come here' hey woman do this...It sounds so pejorative...

The great thing about America is we have the right to say whatever pleases us,as long as we use common sense and consider others feelings. I personally think aw woman would be a great expression and that you would probably be considered cool for coining the phrase.

Coz its too long to say and its not cool. We need to say things that we can say quickly. Aw man (2 syllables) Aw Woman (3 syllables) Its too long. And it doesn't make sense.

The figure of speech is technically 'Aw man' but new slang is continually integrated into our language!
