You can't judge anyones intellectual ability by one or even just a few aspect(s) of their being, not for the positive or negative. There are people out there who can talk up a storm, pronounce all the words properly, and sound like they know what they are talking about. But if that same person is talking in front of someone who really knows the subject, they can be revealed as an articulate boob.

People being judged on a very narrow set of criteria sounds to me like discrimination. "You can't speak well, therefore you must be an idiot, not to be trusted with important work." Yup, that sounds like the party of tollerance to me.

here is my favorite bushism

"You know, when you give a man more money in his pocket—in this case, a woman more money in her pocket to expand a business, it—they build new buildings. And when somebody builds a new building somebody has got to come and build the building. And when the building expanded it prevented additional opportunities for people to work."—Lancaster, PA., Oct. 3, 2007

I used to wonder if perhaps beneath the buffoonish exterior lurked some diabolical genius. Alas over the course of his presidency, his unfathomable ineptitude has proved this not to be the case.

His policies would seem to imply this though the democrat-controlled congress is acting so ineptly that they are beginning to make him seem to be smart enough to control them. Strange race to the bottom in they eyes of the voters.

I certainly do wish GW expressed himself better in front of the camera. It's probably his greatest weakness. According to people who have heard him speak in person, he expresses himself very well in an extemporaneous environment. He just locks up in front of the camera, especially when he is reading from a script. It's a common problem, but an unfortunate one if you are the leader of a country.

Would you say that Hilliary is as intellectually adept as her verbal skills would indicate that she is?

I have never seen a more double speaking person than her.

I think Bush does not double speak, he tells it like it is.

History will judge him as a great president who did the right thing.

I do believe that Bush's verbal skills out-pace his intellectual acuity.

The man is an imbecile.

Seems hard to believe anyone who has the intellectual disconnect Bush has, would be capable of doing anything but drooling and playing in their own fecal matter, but yes, how a person speaks does tend to indicate how that person's thought processes work (or don't).

In Bush's case, he has cynically realized he can say ANYTHING, no matter how nonsensical, and his few supporters will do whatever they have to, to excuse and rationalize his lack of foresight and vision.
