We go to my mother-in-laws, about a 2 hour drive from our place, every year during the week of Christmas to celebrate Christmas. It's a LOT of fun! She's a great cook and has her house decorated completely, inside and out. We eat, we sing, we eat, we open presents, we eat again, we burp, and then we fall into the car for the drive home late in the evening, and look at all the outdoor decorations on the way. WHEEEEEEEE!

Yes! That's what Christmas is all about. We are alive for such a short time - we shpuld take every opportunity to enjoy those life has connected us to - friends, family, in-laws, etc.

I like spending time with my family very much on Christmas and at any time of the year.
My inlaws, however, absolutely not. My husband's parents are divorced. His mom is a schizophrenic witch who makes our lives as unpleasant as she can and his dad is the most self-centered, pig of a man I have ever met - the only time he calls is when he wants something from us, like money or for my husband to buy something for him and he talks about himself and how "great" he is all of the time. I absolutely cannot stand the people and I refuse to spend time with them. Period.

Yes, most of the time.
I've worked so many holidays; and sometimes been working out of town over the holidays, so often that I really treasure the times when I can be with 'the tribe'....:)

It's fine if you have children, because they like to focus on the kids.
