I read the story about 15 years ago and I can't remember the ending. Can someone please refresh my memory. I just watched the movie and I want to see if the ending is the same.

As I recall David Drayton is in the lobby of the hotel where he, his son Billy, Amanda Dumfries and (I think) Mrs. Reppler have driven to after escaping the supermarket. Drayton is contemplating a future where they may be the only people left in the world, existing among all the weird, hellish creatures that arrived in "The Mist". He's fiddling around with a radio when he thinks he hears a voice. He thinks he may have heard two words: "Hartford" (a nearby town) and "Hope". And the story ends there.

i think he is driving down a highway with big holes in it from the monsters heavy animal tracks and he is trying to get some where else hmmmmm that is safe that i think he heard on a radio or something....not to clear and that might not even be that book lol..sorry....i want to see the movie hope it was good

How the hell can fog or mist kill a whole freaking town? I mean come on it is just water! I have never looked out the window and was like "Hey lookout everybody the fog is coming everybody we are gonna be here for a long time get some food and supplies" lol I don't get it. HA fog or even mist what the hell?
