I'm a software engineer. Just 6 months have passed and i have already started contemplating changing my profession. Not that i dont love my work but want to make my life more meaningful.

Fresh out of college, i have fond memories of it and am thinking of joining it as a lecturer.

I know that money could flow in more freely but i guess i can live it with.

Is it worth giving a try?

You and your students will get a lot more out of it if you are passionate about it. Most teachers teach because they feel a calling, not for the money.

I taught in the UK for 30 years full time and enjoyed it, but with children aged 9 to 13. Over here , IT teachers are in very short supply; I don't know what it's like where you are. Do you want to teach, ie get involved with kids, or lecture, ie stand in front of a group of students and talk to them. Think about it. Hope this helps.

Lecturing is not teaching...teaching is being actively engaged to your students. When you lecture you do not do this, its like watching a video.
