I had the same problem for years until I saw a specialist and was told that I had a 'deviated septum' and an operation would cure it. I also suffered badly from rhinitis (hay-fever) and kept taking one cold after another. I had the operation years ago and have been great since. No more runny eyes or nose and I can breathe through both nostrils.

I had the very same problems. I constantly suffered from migraine headaches; chronic sinusitis, sinus congestion; frequent episodes of colds, flu and allergic rhinitis. I simply couldn't breathe. I resort to constant use of nasal sprays to open my nasal passages. Sometimes, the nostrils get blocked alternately, At times, both are blocked. I feel like I'm suffocating. when that happens!!!

Eventually, a Cat Scan revealed two nasal polyps. The EENT resected. them. He said it was diffused -meaning there was a lot of nasal polyps. He also corrected my deviated septum. Now I can breathe much better. My migraine headaches are gone. I don't have chronic sinusitis anymore.

On the whole, the quality of my life is greatly improved.

Now, where before I can not eat anything cold without suffering the consequences such as sore throats; I can enjoy a cone of ice cream and drink water with lots of ice chips.

My suggestion: ask the doctor to order skull series x-ray. Or even CAt Scan. T& A ( Tonsillectomy) might help also like it did to me. You might require tonsillectomy and sinus surgery if you suffer chronic sinusitis ;i.e.; more than 2-3 bouts of sinusitis and tonsilltis.( sore throats with fever) .

Good Luck!!!!
