Longest drought by the Yankees is from 1903-1923, which is 20 years, before their first Championship. And for fun, longest drought by the Tigers is from 1901-1935, 34 years. Who knows, Ordonez can one day lead the Tigers to a 5th Championship. I really don't have anything against the Tigers, they have a great history with past legends like Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline, Charley Gehringer, Willie Horton, Hal Newhouser, etc. Tiger fans have a lot to be proud of.

Actually, by winning the 2000 World Series against the Mets, they have won a World Series in the 21st century. (I don't know which moron started propagating the notion that the century/millennium started in 2001, but they started in 2000.)
That said, the Yankees will more than likely go a few more years before they win another World Series. Their team is poorly constructed and they lack leadership.
