I think it depends on the person, I like to dress really nice all of the time, but i know other people who like to dress down quite often, my wife could care less about how i dressed, she liked how i made the time pass soo quickly when i would tell her stories and converse with her and how i could always make her laugh. So even though i dressed really nice it had nothing to do with our relationship.

Yeah... its kind of ironic though, almost all dapper men are gay. Us straight guys mostly dress like slobs.
