Michael Vick turned himself in to the authorities. What are your thoughts?

1. Will this have any influence with the judge?
2. Do you think he will get prison time?
3. Do you think he should be allowed to play football again?

My personal thoughts are he should get prison time, the maximum, and he should never, but NEVER, be allowed to return to football.

(Don't tell me about how sorry he is now. He is only sorry that he got caught. He knew right from wrong and he deserves all he gets out of this.)

1. I am not sure that this will have any influence with the judge unless he was a big Falcons fan. Animal cruelty probably does not sit well with people.
2. Hopefully, he will get prison time. He absolutely deserves it.
3. I don't think he should ever be allowed to play football again. He needs to serve as an example for other players that no matter how good/famous/overrated you are, you are still never above the law. Him being on the field would just tarnish the reputation of the league.

I also agree that he isn't sorry. When you are making millions of dollars a year to play football (which is the dream of almost any football fan I know) you should be intelligent enough to keep your hands out of illegal, immoral, and inhuman activities. When you are that big of a celebrity the payoff for someone to turn you in outweighs whatever friendship you had with that person. If you are dumb enough to throw all that away and waste your talent, you deserve whatever punishment comes your way.

I think it will influence the judge, but I still think he will probably get around 6-18 months. More than likely on the lesser side, then house arrest, or something else that is a possibility, the judge might sentence him to just house arrest and community service. Billy Martin is one of the best defense attorneys there is and I'm sure he got some kind of inside information on if Michael was to turn himself in and spend the next 3 weeks in jail, there would be some kind of leniency, or Michael wouldn't have done it!
Michael Vick should definitely get another chance to play football again, if he so desires. Let me say something to some of the people that will read this and don't watch or know a whole lot of what kind of people are in the NFL or any major pro sport for that matter. There are people playing in the NFL right now that were charged with murder or assessors to a murder and walked away because of who they are. They are poeple in the NFL that have been charged with beating their wives/girlfriends. So if Michael serves his time, pays for his consequences, he should get to play in the NFL again.
Now, let me say this. What Vick did was wrong, sick, and inhumane indeed. There isn't a question there. But for him to spend more time in prison than a murderer or child molester or rapist is ridiculous! Our judical system needs some serious help!
I wonder if our Government has forgotten that we have a freaking war going on!?

Vick did this to get in and get out as quickly as he can, I was really surprised he didnt go in right away to get the ball rolling. I think Vick is a mess and he needs this to find the reality and maybe turn him around, but as far as the NFL I think he may get a chance when he gets out and faces his suspension, I really doubt he will be ready to play for even another year after that and there is always a team willing to take a chance and bring him in and may strike gold. Vick really made an *** of himself and its a shame as he had true fans that loved him and thought he was the greatest and the kids have to see him get thrown in the clink. I am not sorry for him, I am sorry for his teammates and the ones close to him he hurt as he thought destroying dogs was a treat and drugs was the best thing for him. I am getting tired of these over paid cry babies, you pick the career if you are too stressed and cant take it or so forth then get out and get away from your hood friends so you cant get in trouble....Vick will be in Prison 5 years and I hope it rings home with these guys playing.

Vick has done alot of community service since being busted
, going to animal rights meetings sitting in a meeting with PETA .
i think he realized he screwed up he and he trying to make things right ,
in that said he should be in prison for no less than 2 years
if he gets 5 or more very understandable

he not only killed dogs , but in the big picture he destroyed a city and a football team , that team has to live with the Fact that they had a Dog killer on there team for the rest of their exsistance .

I honestly feel that Vick should be banned from the NFL , none of this he did his time he paid his debt to society he should be allowed to play crap .

1. It better not, it doesn't matter if he turned himself in or not, the fact of the matter is that he is an evil person.

2. Yes, animal crulty is wrong. No exceptions. He should be thrown in prison, and fined.

3. As much as I hate to say it, yes. Playing football hasint a thing to do with the fact that he was abusing animals.

And another thing, why whould he do it in the first place? He could do anything in the world for pleasure, and he fights dogs. Im sorry but that just adds on to the sterotype.

And, only Michael Vick and other people of fight pit bulls have evil ones. Pit bulls are naturally just as nice, sweet, and loving as any other dog, and its sad to think in places you cant have them because they are thought to be vicious.

MICHAEL VICK MAKES ME SICK!

1. going in early may buy him a little leverage, and of course time served, but that's about it.
2. he will get prison time - his crimes were done in the wrong part of the country if he expects sympathy - plus, right or wrong, this was a senasationalized case and they will make an example of him. I expect he gets 4-5 years (I think 5 is the max) and serves about 18-24 months.
3. You can't say he's banned from the league; he didn't shave points or anything like that. But he will be taboo - that doesn't mean someone won't taks a shot with him. Maybe Al Davis if he's still alive.

Bottom line - committing a crime/felony doesn't mean you are ineligible to work ever again. Employers have the right of choice to not hire you, but he cannot legally be banned from the NFL.

It may influence the judge.

Yes, I think that he'll probably get prison time. Not very much though. Why should he?

And a big NO on the football. He shouldn't get to be an example for young black kids out there. He has forsaken that right by being a career criminal.

Personally, I don't really care about the him killing the dogs. I'm a dog lover but they where his property. It's cold but i think he can dispatch with them as he pleases. Sociopathic in nature, ya it is, but this is america.

The interstate dogfighting ring is what concerns me. It perpetuates the "get rich or die trying" attitude that so many people have. Even though he was already rich, he decided to throw it away on illegal activities that didn't make much money. STUPID.

I find it ironic that in a country where we exterminate kids daily, everyone gets riled up over some dogs. LOL.

Modern day Babylon...............Our time is about up.

Ok I know what Michael Vick did was wrong, stupid, and immature. But he deserves another chance. And he should be allowed to come back to the NFL y its probably a whole of NFL players have done that. Michael Vick was wrong that but at the same time he deserves another chance. Everybody makes mistakes. This is the first time that Michael Vick has had to deal with the law. So to me the proper punishment for him would be probation or house arrest. The one thing I don't get is that Michael Vick lied to all lot of people. I think he was ashame to come out and say that.

He may play in Europe, Canada, or Arena. It may be difficult for him to return to the NFL. Who knows?

As for punishment, he should hang.....just like his dogs.
