A guy I know and dont like came into my house tonight uninvited , ran up my stairs, slammed threw my roommates door and tryed to beat him up. He was drunk but hes like the town dirt bag. Hes made a few threating phone calls about it because we called the cops , something like you guys are lucky I dint have something with me etc. I dont know , I really dont think anyone deserves to go to jail but I would really rather not have to shoot him for breaking in again. Yes shoot him , hes the type of person thats dirty and will do something cowardly like burn ur house down lol. I just dont know, he even complained about me and my other roommate comen to my roomates aid (i have 2 roommates) we dint hit him or anything just asked him to leave. It took us a good 10 mins of non violance to get him to leave , and it came very close to us losen are cool and putting him in the hospital :/ I kinda wish we did so I wouldent have to worry about him comen bak. Anyways what do u guys think I should do.

@Carol , he was what I thought was a friend till him and his friend jumped me one night while I was to inegreated to stand ^_^ even got thrown threw a window.

File a criminal charge of physical injuries against the intruder.

1. He was trespassing on private property.
2. He entered the house without permission.
3. He tired to beat your roommate up. (Battery: unwanted touching)
4. He has threatened you and/or your roommates.
He should be reported to the cops for his illegal behaviors. If he ever comes to your house again, call 9-1-1 immediately.
Keep all exterior doors locked at all times. If he tries to break in, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Ummm.... You don't think he should have to go to jail, but you may shoot him if he comes back? WTF kind of thinking IS that? Just do yourself a big favor here and give the Police any support they need to press charges against this clown. Right now he can be charged with Home Invasion, Assault, Breaking and Entering and probably a host of other things. Without doing that, you will probably do something really stupid, like taking the law into your own hands and then it'll be YOU that goes to jail or gets killed.

Yes, definitely call 911 immediately if this happens again. In the mean time, go to the police station and file a report on the last incident.

I think you should, bot only for your personal safety, but for that of your roomates as well. He sounds like the type of person that does not understand the consequences of his actions, and the only way it seems to be sure that he does not bother you or your household again is to press charges. Sounds like he needs mental help. Good Luck...

you seem like a very intellegent, and rational person, however, you shoild have called the police. Trying to talk to people like that is impossible. What if he did have a gun? You need to take a copy of the message that he left and go to the police.

The "town dirtbag?" That must be a small town. It sounds like he is one of those people you just want off the face of the earth. I know, because I have someone like that right now who keeps causing problems. It doesn't seem like there is any way to solve it becides eliminating them, but that's not a realistic option.
To answer your question, I would say yes, press charges. Do what you can.

This isnt right if he'd hurt someone you would feel guilty report him. How do you know him? Sounds like you mix with dodgy people clean up your act.
