What I believe is necessary to understand any other person's point of view or feeling is unadulterated objectivity.... this can be achieved without getting into those shoes.... but what needs to be ensured is to negate the ego.... not so easy, but certainly not impossible..... for instance if we love someone truly, we can do this in respect of the beloved.
