good old fashion calor gas heater..I have looked at all the big stores (UK) but they are all electric or oil filled. Thanks.

Have you tried looking on eBay?
I just took a look and there are loads on there, just search for calor heater.

Try the small hardware stores in your area. They do still exist and would probably stock such an appliance.
