There is a conflict between the Western view on the emancipation of women and the tradional Muslim view of women that needs to be resolved.

Also in Muslim States, if there is a divorce, the father will normally get custody of the children whereas in the West, the mother has the presumption of primary carer and thus is given custody. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but you need to be aware that Cairo is not Coventry.

In the long run, marriages that cross strong cultural traditions only work if one partner is prepared to adopt the norms of the other. Otherwise the tension and conflict eventully does for the relationship.

Depends on how old fashioned the Egyptian is. They have very different customs than those in the west. Egyptian women are regarded as property in a way no self respecting western woman would allow. Be careful!
