Not who you plan on voting for, or who has the most likely chance of winning, but which candidate do you feel is most right-minded and would be the most effective president?

A mainstream candidate like Obama or Clinton? Or a more obscure one like Dodd or ****Gravel****? In an ideal world, who would be the best choice?

I don't mean this as a competition...I'm trying to get involved and informed myself. So far Gravel stands out to me above the rest. But of course he's got no chance.

How do you judge what "best" should mean.

The candidate with the most amount of momentum and attention is Clinton.

The candidate advocating the most change to current politics is Obama.

The candidate with the most experience is definitely Richardson.

The candidate that would most likely enact the most changes is Kucinich.

The candidate that would be best for worker's rights is Edwards.

You will never find a candidate that encompasses the absolute best of every field. That's why it's the citizen's responsibility to determine the best candidate for them, and not just for whoever they heard of in the news.

I'm a Republican, but I do watch all debates. I was really impressed bu Joe Biden. I felt he was the only one that really didn't skirt any question given. He was blunt, honest, and to the point. He also has a pretty good sense of humor. If I had to vote Dem, he would be my choice. Kucinich was direct also, but he is a complete and utter whack job, and he is a horrible administrator. Being from Cleveland, where he got his start, I know something about him. Ask anybody that doesn't reside in an asylum in the Cleveland area, and you will see how much he ran this city into the ground.

Joe Biden seems to appear level headed. I know he is not perfect, but in an imperfect world he does a heck alot better then Clinton and the rest of them.

I think the better question is who is the best candidate period, limiting yourself to party politics is part of americas problem, the solution is for everybody to be more involved in picking a suitable candidate rather than playing from one side or the other, their was a website I visited that asked 100 questions on personal, economic, domestic, and foreign affairs and at the end it tells you which candidates you are closest to, I cant think of the name of the site right now but it may be worth googleing... btw this question is subjective... think for yourself!!!

Bill Richardson. He actually has a lengthy resume. Governor, ambassador, cabinet positions. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Even Edwards has worked in the private sector. He's been foreclosing homes from Katrina victims.

Obama and Clinton have a couple of years showing up and saying yes or no. Obama has done this for almost 3 whole years. Clearly he's ready to lead the free world.

Don't even get me started on Hillary. For someone who wants women to vote for her, she sure has thrown a lot of them under the bus when they got in the way of her or her husband. And I'm not even talking about the ones Bill sexually harassed. I'm talking about Jocelyn Elders and Lanie Guinier.

Depends on what the issues are to you. If your main issue is getting out of Iraq, and getting rid of the patriot act, you would vote for Republican Ron Paul.

*Steven Colbert mentioned above, cannot run for president, or think for that matter, with the current writers strike. lol

But since your trying to get involved, and informed, you must tell us what the main issues are to you. And out of those issues, have you eliminated any that you deem unconstitutional. Are you interested in politics, but not the constitution?

Since the Constitution is the REASON America has survived, It is highly recommendable for you to read it one night, and understand how awesome it is. After reading it, you may expect more or less, or different things from your political picks. It will also help you decide which is the best, and which is legit as a candidate.
