I have grown up in the 'wealthy" Nothern Suburb of Athens and still I have not met a preson older than 25 who is unemployed and lives luxuriously!!! I know a lot of people that dont work so hard and lead a good life but not a single person that is unempoyed and lives well. Apparently there are two Greeces, a wealthy one and a poor one! Sadly I live in the poor one!!!!

I must improve my network of friends since most of them work their a s s e s off for 700-800€ which is a joke for the rest of Europe (exept Bulgaria).

And yes I have not encountered aliens but i cannot rule out the possibility that they exist!!

Just take a look at the cafeterias around 11:00-12:00 everyday. Half of the people you see there fall in that category.
I know many of them, exactly as they are described in the article. I totally agree.

Yes, I know several young people who live off their parents' income while studying, pretending to study, actively looking for a job, or simply waiting for the perfect job to land on their lap.

Whether their life is luxurious or not is a matter of perspective. At any rate, that is not what the article is suggesting. However, I would hesitate before calling most of them financially challenged.

I think this all depends on family traditions. In my circle there are no such phenomena. I have not stopped working even for a day since before I got my degree - with the exception of the year I was doing a MA abroad. The same goes for all of my friends. I noticed a girl in the article was an architect, such as myself. Sure she doesn't want to work in someone else's office. I didn't like it either, but I had to do it. If she feels her family can support her indefinitely, that's their issue. I am not judging it. I personally want to be independent, that is why I don't accept to be financially dependent either from my parents or my husband. I could not accept to live with my parents after i graduated. And with my husband, even though we are business partners, we still keep our earnings separate. If I work fewer hours for a project, I get less money from the fee. If I need money I work more. It's a matter of mentality.

There is something to be said about indolence, the Mediterranean way. Does one work to live or live to work?
Please release me from the so called Judeo-Christian value of hard labor. It is another device fabricated by Industrialists to subjugate the masses.
