I know sooo many people just out of my graduating class(2005) that are already married and/or have kids, at least one of the marriages is failing. I used to think I wanted these things around 22, but I think I am changing my mind....what about you?

Hi Amee, I was partying too much in my 20's to even consider a child. I was always looking for "the right" man though. Growing up, I saw myself married by 20 and breeding by no later than 25. I had my daughter 3 yrs ago on Halloween. I don't think I would have been as good at it ten years ago when I was 25. However...a more mature young woman could start a family straight out of high school and enjoy her grandchildren in her early forties. I may be too feeble minded by the time it happens for me. Only you can say for sure what you are capable of and know exactly what you want. I will warn you that being a "mature" mom means a sore back and crackly knees in the am at feeding time. And bath time. And playground time....(totally worth it!)

I graduated in 2001 and as far as I know, nobody has kids, and maybe only one or two people are married.

Uhm, I personally believe that the marriage age *nationwide* should be no less than 21 - you mentioned failing marriages, and it's well known that divorce rates are quite high, and the young marriages are the ones that usually don't last.

And when these flash-in-the-pan marriages end up producing kids...*sigh* well, when their parents divorce, the children are always caught in the middle.

And if nothing else, think of yourself.

Enjoy your youth! Your 20s are supposed to be the best time of your life, apart from maybe high school or something.
Do you really want to get married so early? People are living longer and longer these days, so what's the rush?

What it comes down to is I don't think anyone should be getting married/having kids younger than 25 or 26. To do so is to toss away your youth and prematurely shoulder the burden of parenthood and the humdrum domestic life.

Depends on the people and the maturity level and how responsible they are. I got married when I was 19 and I have been married 29 years to that same person.

I think you should do it whenever you are ready. You shouldn't worry about what others do. I got married at 21 and have been married for over 5 years

i don't think it matter what age you get married at. it will only work if you work at it.
being mature helps alot in both, marriage and kids but age is just a number
i was married at 18, and divorced by 23 but i don't think it had anything to do with my age
most of it had to do with how he acted after we got married

I noticed a lot of people who get married really young usually get divorced after a while. I'm 25 and soooo many of my high school classmates are already divorced.
