i needed someone to talk to about it.
i tried to talk to him, and he just said, "i don't know what you should do, i don't know what's gone on, and i've never had family problems".
so basically i think he just doesnt care. whats going wrong if you can't talk to your boyfriend about stuff?

He is detached from life. He is someone that cares what happens to him, and really doesn't know or care about how someone else should feel. When he was growing up, his family either hid the problems, or he was out of tune with his surroundings. It sounds like he only cares what effects him, and really doesn't care about your feelings. He's young, you have to raise him right.

You are dating someone that is younger, and really doesn't want to hear about your problems. After all, you have only been together for 5 months. That is not a very long relationship to be involving him in your family problems.

Talk to a long term friend.

He's only 21, has had no family problems and doesn't seem to know the history behind your current problems. I guess he doesn't feel qualified to offer advice, which is better than offering bad advice. Your assumption that he doesn't care is very telling. Could it be that he thinks the family problems could be of your making and doesn't feel he can tell you?

I think he is too young as he is just getting matured and in the learning process as you are much older than him. But there are people who does not not want to get involved in family problems. I think he should at least listen to you and advice you if he cannot help. I think he is not suitable for you just drop him for good.

I got friends like that too, they never want to listen to my personal affairs... Well if I was a bf or friend I would listen to everyone because I know the pain of having no friends that would listen to me. Hes immature, I'm sorry to say, I thought only high school students do that...

Are you actually living with this infant?
Given that "all men are 12 years old", it sounds like you've got an aloof 5 year old there.
He is not emotionally available to you... probably thinks about nothing except filling his own needs.
Move on.

I would ask him again and see if you get any response. Realize that he is only 21 first off and probably thinks he can get away without emotionally supporting you and you need to explain this a little clearer to him-what you expect.

P.S. Will you please answer the question I just posted? Thanks.

Perhaps you should find an older boyfriend who is more experienced in life. He will understand you better.
