I am pregnant. doctor says im 17 weeks. I do not remember my last period date exaclty but it was later july. there getting 17 weeks from measuring my baby thru ultrasound.
im curious, there giving me a conception date of about august 5th, and a due date of April 24th. thing is I slept with someone other than my boyfriend july 15&14. and yes he is aware that i slept with somebody else. him and I started having sex again right away after the 15th of july..
so my question is, even though the doctor is telling me I got pregnant the first week of august, is there ANY way, that the man I slept with on the 14& 15th of july is the father? I dont know if the doctors can be wrong on that or not,
and counting from the first week of august until now, isnt 17 weeks, its 15. Im so confused.. please no lectures Im aware this is a very stupid thing to ask a bunch of strangers but I really need help :) thanks so much!

I was told doctors can be a few days off, but 2 weeks seems like an awful lot? isnt there also a chance it could be later than the first week of august too?
I also looked at a chart in the doc's office, and the date of LMP =july 19th, conception of august 5, and due date of april 24th match on that, they also match on everywebsite I have tried entering the dates on aswell.

Ok, this is going to go by your due date. Does this sound correct about your last period?
First day of last menstrual period: July 19, 2007
Estimated date of conception: Thursday, August 2, 2007
End of 1st trimester (12 weeks): Thursday, October 11, 2007
End of 2nd trimester (27 weeks): Thursday, January 24, 2008
Estimated Due Date: April 24. 2008
You are 17 weeks, 5 days pregnant according to http://www.askdramy.com/pcalctry.html
Hope this helps. Good luck and Congrats!
(I think there is no way that it belongs to the other guy)

my due date is also the 24th of april, Im 17 weeks and a few days..and I was told my baby was conceived on the 4th of august, give or take a few days. I was unsure about my last period as well, but they told me (I dont know how they came up with it) that my last period should have started on july 19th..which sounds about right..
So Im gonna say in my opinion it would have been conceived in August like your doctor told you, if you slept with this other person on the 14th and 15th of july, and you got a period after that then wouldnt it have to be your boyfriends? Im not great at this baby makin stuff , Ive had a lot of questions of my own regarding this same thing and have gotten so many different answers.. I specificaly asked my doc when was this baby conceived? and he told me august. not July. and to the person who posted before me..
the 2 week thing is put into your weeks when they tell you your conception date.
there is the fetus' age which would be 15 weeks.
then there is the gestational age, which is 17 weeks,
thats where the other 2 weeks is :)
but when your doctor tells you your babys age they are telling you the gestational age, not the fetal age.
soo sorry this is so long, but Im willing to bet its your boyfriends, get a paternity test once the baby is born if your still unsure!
:)
EDIT
I went to my doctor yesterday, and asked if there was any possible way I conceived before the date of august 4th. he said there is about a week before that, or a week after that they can never be 100% sure. my baby is 15 weeks old, my pregnancy is at 17 weeks in because they start counting your pregnancy at the first day of your last period, even though your not pregnant then.
so NO. it is not the other mans.

hi, all i can think of is july 14 and 15th with the other guy add on 14 days of luteal phase which would have brang period on 29th july! can you remember if your period was right at the end of july?
but what would help also is your cycle length aswell
if you had sex right away after the 15th with bf, assuming your period was due 29th july would make your luteal shorter say day 13 and you may have already conceived prior to the event.
i am giving you some advice and i could be very wrong but if it rings a bell then maybe it will give you more information to you.
it all comes down to cycle length and minus leuteal phase of 14 days backwards to get an approx ovualtion day and when the event took place.
what was your cycle in june?. if 29th july minus 28 days(or what ever your cycle is) would have had a period on 1st july and would have given ovulation at day 14th of july.
hope i have not confussed you! good luck

Sorry to say but i think it may be closer to you getting pregnant in july than in august. I got pregnant the first week of July and in due on April 12. Sounds like you got pregnant 1-2 weeks after me. It may be the other guys baby. Dont stress on it til after the baby is born. My sister went though the same thing and her daughter is now 3 months old and she decided that it doesnt matter who the dad is because either way that will still be her baby. She is in the process of finding out now though for the sake of her daughter knowing who her father is. Dont worry about it, it will all work out, and keep in mind that however this turns out, that is your baby and with or without the dad you need to support him/her. Good Luck and Congradulations!!!

what they can tell off of the ultrasound is the size and approximate weight of the baby - they estimate the age according to average size and weight at that "age"
As you know, everyone and everything develops differently- though there is an average, there are some that grow above and below that average. This early on in the pregnancy, their guesstimation tends to be fairly accurate, but it is not an exact science. When I was pregnant I was told that the estimate was 'give or take' two weeks- so considering the two week difference, it is entirely possible you conceived on the 14th or 15th but likely that it was earlier than that.
All I can tell you is that it won't do you or the baby any good to sweat and be anxious over this. Talk to your boyfriend and be open about the possibility that it is a possibility that it is not his biological child- decide between yourselves if he is going to raise this child as his own or if he absolutely has to know.
We all make poor choices and we all fail- we learn to take responsibility for our choices and deal with the consequences, but it is often hard to seek to make changes so we don't fall in those same traps again- please understand I say this not out of condemnation but out of experience- decide what you want in life, you deserve commitment and to have someone honor and respect you- whether you feel valuable or not , you are valuable- seek counseling for yourelf and for you both as a couple so that you learn not to fall into the same traps again- not only is it the best thing you can do for yourself but also for your baby- you want to have the ability to impart to him or her their value and help them to be stronger and hopefully avoid some of the mistakes you have made- learn for yourself a better way and be an example of that to your child- you both deserve it!

ultrasound is a very reliable way of getting the gestational age of a fetus (how many weeks pregnant you are). the actual conception date is generally very hard to determine, usually gestational age is determined in order to develop an appropriate prenatal plan and also to approximate, most accurately, the date of birth. although extremely unlikely, especially if the 1st day of your last menstruation was AFTER the 14th&15th of july, there is a very slight chance that the other man may be the father of your child. yes, doctors and ultrasounds can be mistaken, the only way to be sure who the father of your child is is to get dna testing done. good luck to you!

the two weeks thing is because the first day of your last period is when they technically start counting you as being pregnant even tho most women don't ovulate until 14 or so days after they start their period. i know... it's dumb. SO if your conception date is august 5th you probably conceived around the 19th, BUT sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days so.... who were you sleeping with around then?

umm... no. i do no longer think of that's the ex's because of the fact then your due date may well be an entire month earlier. and the later you get, the extra sparkling dates are so i might anticipate in the experience that your medical doctors have been sensible they may well be waiting to tell between a 6 month infant and a 7 month infant. whoever you have been with around january 8th is the father.

Dont stress about it..does it really matter who the daddy is..will your bf be there for you and da baby anyway?? Talk to him about it.. another thing you can do besides stress is take the DNA test..they give them like idk 4 or 5 mos into the preg..talk to your doctor about this an dlet him know what going on and ask him to do the test...
