They teach values and help to educate and nurture their children. Also how to act in the culture they are in and what is culturally acceptable. Children, as they grow up and learn, also help tech their parent new things. This is particularly true of first generation children of immigrants. As people learn to get a long, respect law enforcement and the value of other people and their beliefs, they also enjoy our difference as much as what we have in common with others. Family is a mini-society. As you learn how to relate with people in your family, you learn how to relate to people outside of your family. Family teaches societal rules, conduct, goals, and tradition. Therefore, when people leave the family and enter into society, they are already prepared to relate with others and understand how society works.
