A game is just that....a game
It is not a life or death situation & it's not like it will change your life either way.
We were always taught that IT'S JUST A GAME!!! As long as YOU do YOUR best that's all that matters...
That is what my husband & I are also teaching our boys.

When the purpose of the game is to connect and be with others, I play for the fun and exercise. When the game is an arraigned competition, I play to win and I am serious as heart failure. It would be insulting to play a game in competition and not give it your all. like wise it would be horribly impolite and socially offensive to play to win when social interaction is the goal.

Why do I feel there's something more to this question?
Anyway, I like to play for the fun unless it is some sort of competitive sport. Then I'd give my best shot and aim to win. Generally, I am quite laid-back who likes to keep things simple, uncomplicated, balanced but rub me wrong and I turn into a tigress. Now, what sort of games are we talking about...again???

If it's a game I'm really good at, I aim to win. If not, I just play for fun.

I've never heard the winner say "winning or losing doesn't matter... it's how you play the game that counts"....

I play to win, unless I don't win, in which case i'm in it for fun or experience or exercise..

I like to participate in games for fun now. I used to be quite competitive and play for wins, but I'm much more sedate now.

it depends on the circumstances. when i was fighting (i boxed in a circuit for two years), i trained harder than you could ever imagine, so obviously i wanted my victory, and i wanted it badly. i took it extremely seriously. not many things were more important to me at that time. but if it's something like playing a one-on-one game of basketball with my cousin, or scrabble with my mom, it's just for fun.

If it's Trivial Pursuit, I'm out to win; other games are just for fun.
