Taking into consideration the rise in the rate of crimes against women all over the world, in what ways can we raise a girl child to be a confident and fearless woman who can be self-reliant as far as defending herself is concerned? can martial arts be the ultimate solution?

Of latethe sex crime has moved from "rape" by individuals to
"gang rape"! Teaching girls the martial arts would not help them.Nor could we depend upon our police!
Hence, time has come when parents of girls and husbands of working women shaould join and form a "CHIVALOUS FORCE", consisting of able bodied youth ' marked by gracious courtesy and high minded considertion for the honour of women'!
The fact that such a force has been created and it will deal effectively with sex criminals would reduce the incidence very much.!
Despite it , if some venture to engage in sex crime against women, then they should be caught and 'castrated' !Never again such castrated dream of approaching a woman!

Goodness no! Martial arts can be PART of the solution but not the whole solution. In addition to knowing how to physically defend herself, she needs to be SMART enough not to get into trouble in the first place! Avoid high crime areas, be alert to everything around her, know how to walk with confidence so she doesn't look like easy pickings...things like that. And, if she can, avoid becoming pregnant. I know it sounds horrible, but some statistics say that the leading cause of death in pregnant women is MURDER -- by their husbands. I guess a lot of men just can't take the thought of being fathers...

I think knowing martial arts is great, its a good skill to have, but just teach her to say no. So many crimes are committed because a girl wont stand up for herself and regets it after. You cant protect your kids all the time, but try and encourage her to never go anywhere alone (this works well for teenagers, we travel in packs), and to never take anything lying down.

Teaching self defence is necessary, but simultaneously
the girl child from beginning should be mentally made stronger in order to face any situation on her own.she should be taught to become ruthless at times.and probably if one or two incidents occur where-in the woman hits back strongly then there could be some psycological pressure on people who committ crime against them.

Sure ya, Today world is full o0f crime, not even safe for men also, so girls try to learn maratial arts which will help you to stay better and also dont afraid when someone infront of you, be calm and act smart with your exploration of that maratial arts..
