Well the public has spoken, and with a final score of 36:2:1, the asker wins (Hey that's me!).

With that, I shall choose a best answer.

The Asker -- since they asked the question, they are the only true judge if the answer is really a Best Answer (to their question) of course. I mean, getting picked by the voters is fine too, don't get me wrong, but I look at it as a popularity contest -- whoever has the most votes wins -- not necessarily a Best Answer that wins though. The 10+ points work either way, so there's that "bonus" to help in both cases.

Having the asker pick my answer cuz then you know you helped them in some way. It personally makes me feel good when i get a best answer, not just because of the extra points but just cuz i feel like i made a difference.

Having the asker pick my answer.

Sometimes the votes aren't really fair anyway.
