I am trying to get over my fear. There are people that have certain hair and skin coloring which make me think of a vampire.
I'm not scared of black people. Im not even scared of very very dark people with dark hair such as orange colored mexicans.
Im only scared of dark haired people with kind of olive or light olive skin because of the color contrast. These people invariably have a mouth and full lips which in my nightmares could possible suck blood from me, and paralyze me while they are doing it. It has evolved from my fear of manekkins when I was very small to now this.
Please dont mistake that I am a racist. It has nothing to do with race. If the person only dyed their hair dark it doesn't affect me. I can tell the difference between a person with natural dark hair and a person who dyed their hair dark. The natural dark haired ones scare me.
In order to get over my fear, should I try and dye my hair? Does anyone actually think it would work?

WOW!!! I've never heard that one before. I hope you get over your fear. I'm freaked out by clowns.

Hmmm I guess it couldn't hurt. Do you have that kind of "olive" colored skin you described, and full lips and all? Cuz I don't see how it would work that much otherwise, but you could still try it. You also said you know the difference between natural black hair and dyed hair, so, again, would this work for you? But if you're dead serious about getting over your phobia, you're gonna have to step out of your comfort zone (baby steps though) and try whatever you need. Dying your hair is probably more feasible than gathering a bunch of "vampire looking" people in a room and forcing yourself to stare at them and interact with them haha. Can you look at pictures of people like this, movies etc., or is it just people in real life? Cuz forcing yourself to look at pictures or movies for lengths of time can help you "face" your fear....

Phobias are nothing to laugh about, so don't feel bad! I answered this question because as a child I had a fear of redheads!!! hahaha well, maybe not a phobia, but I had a lot of dreams about readheaded boys/men being sexual predators, kidnappers, and molesters...weird... And now my friends make fun of me because I refuse to even consider dating a "ginger" haha.

Best of luck dude. :)

Your knowing that this is not rational is the best step you can take and dying your hair could help but if you could get friends or family members to dye their hair black that would probably help you the most.
To get your friends to help more readily, inform them that there are hair dyes available that will wash out and if you could pay for it, they would be more willing to do this for you.
