I think it is very racist!!! If on Rock of Love that Bret Michaels loser had said "THAT IS SOOOO GHETTO!!" about something his show probably would have been canceled. And he would have been labeled as a racist forever. It is such a double standard.

That show is not degrading to women...it just shows the world that that particular woman is a hoe. She is degrading herself. I don't think the show is racist but what the mom said was definitely inappropriate. However, I believe that the mother saying that statement may not been as offensive to whites as someone calling a black person the N word because in general, the term "white trash" is considered to be targeted toward a SPECIFIC sector of the white race versus historically, the N-word was not so targeted but more generalized for the ENTIRE race. (regardless of monetary status, etc.) Basically, I am more likely to get angry if someone calls me the N-word (though I know I am not that) then maybe a white person who gets called "trash". The term trash is definitely offensive but it is still a general insult that can be attached to any race. Yet, the N-word is usually only attached to the black race. Just a thought.

the mom is gay! in the words of Mr. Boston "She looks like Dark Vader!"

Yes, I think the mom is racist she was racist towards Mr. Boston on the first season.

New York and Her Mom are giving the wrong idea about black women! The only reason this gay show is on is because sadly most Americans are addicted to this TV TRASH!

Battlestar Galactica (aka Baltarstar Galactica to those of us who love James Callis) Pushing Daisies CSI: Las Vegas Supernatural Doctor Who Burn Notice BloodTies Smallville Kyle XY Lost I like "Monk" if they don't make him act stupidly, and they do that too often unfortunately. Then, I get irritated and switch channels. I don't favor USA or TNT. Generally, I'm watching movies on the cable movie channels. I watch the Sci Fi Channel, Lifetime, and a number of others. I run a low-grade fever all of the time, so we have all sorts of fans going, mainly smaller ones, including the fan part of the air conditioner. EDIT: I thought we were to name on-air series, but I see some listing cancelled/retired ones. So, here are some favorites: The Crow: Stairway to Heaven Dark Shadows (both versions) The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Wizards & Warriors Beauty & the Beast Star Trek (original) My So-Called Life Simon & Simon 21 Jump Street The Sentinel Highlander Surface Angel Prey V I also love anthology series such as "Twilight Zone", "Outer Limits", "Night Gallery", "Tales from the Darkside" and "Monsters".

"I Love New York" has got to be the epitome of low-rent entertainment. Let's take someone who isn't even a celebrity, has no talent to offer the world and who sets back the entire African-American race every time she opens her mouth and expels a flood of Ebonics and ignorance and give her an hour-long program where a bunch of drunken and uneducated knuckle-heads compete for who gets to be the first to marry this prize!

The fact that this idiot of a person, who's quote of the week was "*****, you are so smart for wearin' panites" wants to start snubbing any suitor is completely laughable to me. This poor excuse for humanity is riding on the coattails of a has-been celebrity reality show and acting like she's Halle Berry or something.

I wouldn't call the show racist, but for her to say that was completely wrong and I sent her mom a comment on her myspace page about that.

Whining about double standards again, are we? Just remind yourselves that the double standard went the other way for centuries. This is why I laugh in your faces when you whine about not being able to say the "n" word. Boo hoo for you. There are bigger issues in the world today. Pick up a newspaper and READ.

You mean like saying something is ghetto (which is always equated with meaning poor & black)? They say that ALL the time. There goes that theory-ok keep it moving.
