Is there a band that you loved every single song and album by them? Or an artist?

Smiley: I actually liked Momentary Lapse, it's parts of Ummagumma that get me. Most of Ummagumma is wonderful, but Nick Mason doesn't float well on his own, does he?

Nope. Every artist seems to have flaws, even the Beatles (Yellow Submarine, "Revolution 9"). Maybe artists with smaller discographies may not, but I generally don't listen to those bands.

Now that I think about it though, I guess it would be the Sex Pistols. They only had one studio album, and it was fantastic. I loved every single song, some more than others though. "Anarchy in the U.K." remains one of my most played and favorite songs, matched only by "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Ramones.

For me I'd have to say there's no such thing, especially if we're talking bands that have been around 10, 20, 40 years. If you're talking about a group that's been around for a mere 3 or 4 years, with 1, 2 or 3 releases like 'Sex Pistols', 'The New York Dolls' or the 'MC5', then that's a little different. It's a good thing those bands called it quits when they did, as things would have not gotten any better.
With over 60 albums to his credit between 1966-92, Frank Zappa comes darn close though. There were a couple albums in the 80's that I never really cared for.
Even legendary bands/artists released material that wasn't quite up to snuff in comparison to previous output, like Led Zeppelin (In Through the Outdoor), Pink Floyd (A Momentary Lapse of Reason), Rush (Test for Echo), Alice Cooper (Zipper Catches Skin), Supertramp (Famous Last Words),
Black Sabbath (Never Say Die!) and so on.
Sooner or later bands run out of ideas, and in some cases become passed over by fans due to the fact that they can't keep up with change, and eventually release a "flop".
Led Zeppelin almost had a flawless run of 11 years, if it wasn't for the aforementioned 'In Through The Outhouse Door'.
Oh yeah, how could I forget The Beatles? I love EVERYTHING they did! So yes, there's an exception...forget my first sentence!

I liked parts of 'Momentary Lapse', and I also liked parts of the other albums that I mentioned. I just feel that they weren't on the same level as some of the other material released by those bands. Thus preventing them from attaining a perfect score.
And yeah, add Ummagumma to the list as well!
Oh, and get to bed! Don't you have school in another 6 hours??

In all honesty I can't think of one :(

I would say these bands / artists have an *almost* flawless output for me :~

The Beatles
Blackmore's Night
Mike Oldfield
Led Zeppelin
Stevie Nicks
Fleetwood Mac

These are their 'flaws' :~

The Beatles ~ I only like 3 songs on the 2nd disc of the 'White' album, and there I a few I don't like from their early albums.

Blackmore's Night ~ well, possibly the closest to perfection. Out of just over 100 songs, there are only 6 I don't like.

Mike Oldfield ~ I love all but 2-3 tracks from his career 1973 - 1998, but not the stuff beyond that.

Led Zeppelin ~ there are 11 songs across Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, and Presence that I'm either not fond of or don't like at all.

Stevie Nicks ~ 84 out of 92 songs.

Fleetwood Mac ~ {post '75, and including the Buckingham Nicks album}. I like 79 out of 110 songs. Most of the ones I don't like were from Lindsey's experimental phase, and the album made after he left the band.

Yes, that would be my favorite band...Pink Floyd. I actually thought about this before. There are many other bands that I listen to, but all of them have some songs that I dont really like that much. Pink Floyd is the only band that is different. I cant think of a song I dont like. Usually I would pick out a few songs from different bands and add them to my playlist...but I have noticed that I had trouble picking out pink floyd songs so I ended up adding whole albums.

The 13th Floor Elevators have no real blemishes.

The Sex Pistols only released one album and it's absolutely spectacular! The same thing goes for Eater and the Germs.

The first two New York Dolls album are the bee's knees, and the new one they did isn't half bad and is actually impressive for a bunch of old guys, so they qualify.

The Rezillos released one flawless album, a few better than perfect singles, and a fantastic live album.

Well Radiohead obviously. Not many bands can claim to have released seven great albums and not a bad song in sight. If I remember right though, you don't like Pablo Honey, so you might not agree :)

The Frames also come pretty close in my opinion. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they don't have any bad songs, but they're not far off it.

And also, the Pixies and Muse.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Three studio albums, and no artist of any time or genre has ever come close to reaching that pinnacle since.
