Yes, I Grew up where there was SNOW (and lots of it), and retired to where there is no snow during Christmas ...
I've enjoyed my HOME for years ... but now, as I am getting older (and it also is a fact that I am now an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree), I want to try to relocate BACK to my home area ... and I am renovating my home at this time (for future sale).
It is different (and I haven't missed shoveling or plowing snow), and I've enjoyed the Beaches (I live near the Gulf Coast), but .. there really is no place like where you were born and raised, and since I have family up there still ... that is most likely where I'll end up eventually.
By the way, I ended up in this situation because I served in the US Armed Forces (and yes, completed an Honorable Career and RETIRED Honorably as a Military Officer). I went to multiple duty stations, lived in many places (and experienced many others), and it was this one home (in the Sunny South) that I enjoyed ... and for which I purchased/kept through all the years. I enjoy my home, but, like I said, it is time to go home now.

Um, yeah I would say it WOULD be different: snow vs. No snow. I live in Iowa, where we used to get literally feet of snow when my mom was a kid (40 years ago), and even when I was a kid (20 years ago) we would get occasional blizzards that would cancel school with a foot or more of snow. Now...the last three years we didn't really get any snow until January. I believe that by the time I have grandkids (another 10-20 years) Iowa will not have ANY snow. To answer your question, I didn't have to move to see this change!!

I have lived in the same area for most of my life. When I was a kid we used to get snow that would add up to being three or four foot high snow banks. Now we just get a few inches here and there and it always melts in between. It's november and we are still having 50 degree weather, although we should be getting our first snows. It was weird the past few christmas' to have a wet, muddy, cool christmas instead of a cold white christmas.

I used to live in Chicago where it snowed a lot during winter, I now live in Australia in a place where it never snows and the temperature doesn't drop below freezing. I think it makes a huge difference, I really miss the snow. Fortunately for me there are ski resorts only a few hours drive away.

YES!! i grew up in illinois, but i'm now in southern cali... as a child, i loved the snow. i always wanted it to snow for several reasons: the possibility of school being cancelled, it always looks so pretty outside, and we'd always get bundled up and go sledding and build a snowman. BUT, i was always a cold-natured person too. now that i'm out on the west coast with this great weather, i love it. i don't miss the snow at all, and i wish it was summer year-round. once you're an adult, it's no fun to have snow around because you're too old to play in it, and all it does is make it hard to get from one place to another... plus its frickin cold!! :-) it was fun while it lasted, but i'm totally cool being where i never see snow anymore. i hope this helps.

I used to live in Scotland where it snowed heavily during winter, however now i live in Bangkok which as you know is completely the opposite. In fact a the warmest summer day in Scotland is the same as the coldest day of the year here in Bangkok!
The only thing i miss is having snow during Christmas time, other than that i love it warm all year round.

When I was younger I used to live in connecticut, where we had really snowy winters. Now I live in hawaii, where it's sunny all year round. Most of the time I dont miss the snow, but it would be a great way to get out of school... O_o

HECK YEA! I used to live in Pennsy and now live in the southwest US. Think about no more ice scrapers, having to heat the car before you even want to sit in it, no salting the sidewalk, no yucky black slushy snow. and the best is when is snow like a 1/4 of an inch and everyone is panicking and your like the old pro driving and walking like normal b/c youve lived through walking through 3 feet of snow w/ 10 below 0 temps and lived to tell about it

I used to live in one of the snowiest places in the US and now I live in one of the sunniest places in the US. It's different and I love it. Don't miss the snow at all!
