At a local artwalk, I have brought my paintings and have priced them very cheaply...but all people seem to want to buy are handbags and jewelry! What do I sell? Anything work for anyone else? The holiday sale is coming soon. I am thinking of doing silhouette portraits. Many people seem to ask about portraits...but this seems to extensive for the 6 hour fair.

They want something that they can wear, or that they feel is useful. Paintings are fine art and that is a different audience. For a craft fair, you would want to do your painting on a tote bag, or on a wooden table or towel rack, something they can use. Maybe you could pick a few special paintings and have them screened onto bags and shirts. Or you could handpaint some plain vests and jumpers. I buy those all the time.

Bring your calendar and set up a small corner with a portrait display. When someone mentions it, ask them when they would like to book. Some of them will actually book!

Hi - people are more likely to stop and buy if you are actually painting at the time, so set yourself up with a small work area, maybe painting small postcard scenes etc and see the difference
