Now i know how it feels when people say "farewell" to Y!A, but i am not a quitter...
I was thinking some options here:
First: If i post a question, they will deduct me 5 points and if i choose a BA i earn 3 points. But of course, i won't forget those violation emails if they report my Qs...
Second: I keep on answering questions, so i will earn 2 points and a good 10 points if they choose my answer as BA. Of course another violation email to come if they don't like my answer...
Third: I have to stick on "undecided questions" for 1 point and i have to exercise my "righs of suffrage". Don't you think i might get another violation email here?

Of course, you're in a friendly neighborhood.
You're a good friend and a chum.
We cheer with you on every answer, and wait eagerly for your next Question. We commiserate with you for every undeserved violation notice, and will fight to the death for your rights of suffrage. We shall put a thousand thumbs up* for you for every one of their thumbs down. And I shall put up a case of beer for you, if you drink with us.
----------------------------------------------------------
* a thousand thumbs up, figuratively speaking, of course

Actually, participating isn't merely to earn points. What is important is you contribute ideas by answering or you learn and get more information by posting Qs. In the process, you meet the people at YAP and become familiar with all of us here. So long as you stick with the Community guidelines, you can never do wrong. Although, sometimes, the Yahoo team commits mistakes by sending you emails of violations however, you are given a chance to defend yourself as I have done, twice in fact. Anyway, yes, you are in a very "friendly neighborhood".

Unfortunately Yahoo is a law unto itself.
I once posted a question for which I received a violation (one of many) and loss of points BUT the silly thing was that Yahoo was advertising a 'Yahoo Internet Cafe' in Quezon City, and my question was basically "if you live in Quezon City this may be of interest to you" and provided a link to the Yahoo Blog and voila violation.
I do sympathise with those who wish to answer in Tagalog, you still can as long as you provide an English translation. This seems to stop violations.
Battgirl has provided a reasonably good run down for some violations but I do think that we also get visits from some outside Trolls every now and then.
edit
whenever you get a violation appeal it immediately----sometimes they will overturn it (but not often)

Generally answering questions no matter how unrelated they are to Travel are pretty much okay. In fact Yahoo takes some leniency. I suggest for you to read and follow the Community Guidelines to avoid violations. Most common violations in this section are: use of Tagalog (which can be remedied by translating), point-gaming / trolling (creating multiple accounts to vote for yourself as BA) , use of abusive language and yes, you are right, questions like this which will be classified as venting and ranting is also a violation. Which reminds me, I did get a violation for sharing a sad letter. Lost 15 points on that. Just stick to the guidelines and it will be 0 violation for you. Good luck!

Just create another yahoo account and answer all you want. Everybody else is getting violation notices. I even have had an account suspended. Try answering in a sarcastic manner, it makes me feel better even if i get those violation notices. That might help not taking this too seriously.

hello friend.
if you want to increase your points yes you have to bide by the rules & be very careful what you say.
but sometimes i would risk losing several points or even getting reported if there was something i felt strongly about, or wanted to get a message across.
just be yourself. jerks can always give you a thumbs down, but why let them influence how you do things?

Of course you are. Though there are occasional "Filipino haters" roaming this category. Remember the "prositution" question.

I browse his profile too, it appears he's a Belgian married to a Filipina. I tell you he has more "anti-Filipino" questions in different categories. I just can't believe that he's married to a Filipina yet he hates the Philippines so much. Oh well :]
