First off for Darrell above me - The Yankees DID make the playoffs. I know it's hard to remember way back to a month ago, but they were there. And the voting has nothing to do with the playoffs, since it's done before they start.
As for Alex not getting the award unanimously, it doesn't bother me. At least the voters got it correct, which isn't something that always happens. It's the same kind of bizarre voting that has never allowed anyone into the HOF with 100% of the vote, no matter how great their career.

Ordonez shoulda got something for such a great year he had. Whether you like A-Rod or not you have to admit that he deserves MVP, but he does not deserve it by much of a margin. Detroit almost made it to playoffs, but the rest of the lineup and pitchers choked. A-Rod carried the team in the early going. Along with Jeter and Posada. From All star break and on the whole team carried itself it wasn't just A-ROD. Magglio carried the team all year long. The rest of the lineup was doing good in the beginning of the season, but nothing like the outburst the Yankees had in the second half. Too much the race should have been closer

No. And i doubt he cares much either. If u win all the votes or only get one more then the other guy u still win the MVP. Besides the numbers are not that far apart
Mag. BA 363 hr 28 rbi 139
Arod BA 314 hr 54 rbi 156
Mag had an MVP type year even if people dont want to admit it

No. sure, A-Rod has been extensive for the Yankees this year, yet by way of his hip harm he hasn't been putting up the numbers he often does, and he hasn't performed countless the year. He helped out Teixeira and stronger the entire lineup while he decrease back, yet he has not submit MVP numbers. he continues to be, even while approximately 80%, yet up above usual numbers and could nevertheless probable get to 30 domicile runs and one hundred rbi, yet not MVP type numbers. he's been very efficient, yet you could say an analogous approximately Hughes, who grew to become the pen around. Does that recommend he would desire to be the MVP? No. The MVP merely would not artwork that way. that is predicated fairly much completely on numbers, with slightly greater attention in case your on a triumphing team.

It does kinda bother me but not as much as Cal Ripken not reciving an unanimous vote to get into the Hall. I mean c'mon, the iron man. Then again when you think about it no players have recieved unanimous votes, what are the writers smoking?

As usual Craig S is right on point with a completely rational and unbiased response. The A-Rod bashers continue to embarrass themselves with illogical comments based on emotion rather than good sense.

No not really. He still won the award without those two votes so I don't see why it matters or why they're making such a big deal about it. If those two writers thought Maggs deserved it, then that's their opinion.

It really makes no difference if it was unanimous or not, he won the award and he was the right guy.
