fetal cells in karyotyping lab?

Does anybody know the name of the machine that spins the amniotic fluid to compact the fetal cells???
Also, does anyone know what will happen to that compacted cells???

centrifuge?

The cells are used to produce pictures of the chromosomes. The pictures are cut apart and the chromosomes are arranged to make the layout called a karyotype.
