Depends on the mining company and mine. If you are only driving on mine property, not on public roads you do not need a license at all. The mining company will train you on how they want their trucks driven. Hope you don't mind heights. In the large ore haulers the driver sits as much as 18 feet above the road surface.

It has been statistically proven that females are better drivers and that is why they are highly desired in the trucking industry. Check with the company and if you are just going to be on their property you don't need a license but if you find that you may want to drive professionally on the roads sometime, you will have to go to school for your certificate and then test out and get your CDL. Cost of schooling varies depending on where you go and for how long. Some schools are 3 weeks, some can be 8 weeks. Good luck and don't let the comments from the chauvinist's get to you. I drive a semi and my husband and I can assure you that I am not a lesbian.

You still need a CDL from the DMV. It would be best to go to a truck driving school to learn or you could go see your Army recruiter and tell him/or her that you want to be a 88M (truck driver) then you will have the training and tons of experience. Good luck!

That's a bunch of B.S. The way the average women does not take care of there own car, there is no way I would give them the responsibility of a high dollar mining truck.
