I am planning a trip to Las Vegas (either the first week in March or the first week in April) for 5 nights. Where can I find the best deals on flight + hotel? I would be flying out of either Milwaukee or Madison if that matters.

Also, what do you recommend seeing? I am planning on a tour that covers the hoover dam and grand canyon. Are there any other "must sees"?

You realize the grand canyon is 6 hour driving.........first time to Vegas just stay nearby......hoover dam is good and any of the deserts ( there are 5 within an hour). Allegiant air has great packages. Depending on your budget there are deals from luxury to cheapo......check out www.cheapovegas.com
for an overview. Have fun

The best airline to take is Midway out of Milwaukee because it is usually the cheapest and has direct flights, and those delicious hot, fresh-baked cookies. And most of the package put you at a place like Hilton or Sahara, not the newest or close to other casinos.

I have three sites that will answer all yours questions

www.vegas.com
www.lasvegas.com
www.visitvegas.com

And on Fridays the Las Vegas Review Journal "Neon" (www.lvrj.com) will give you every show, dining, entertainment, etc.

The tour to Grand Canyon is in AZ but a very nice one; takes a whole day! The Dam is cool and a wonder to behold.

Did you know you can take a helo ride over the Strip or a hot air ballon?

I would not recommend you stay at the following older properties unless they have the price break you want - Hilton (off the Strip and not near anything) - Sahara (far end and not close to much) - Riveria and Circus Circus (across the street from themselves) - Tropicana (good location but old). The Wynn Las Vegas and Venetian (Sands Corp which will soon open the Palazzo next door) are pricey but across from Treasure Island, which is next to Mirage, which is next to Caesars Palace, which is across from Flamingo (older), Bally's. Across from Bally's is Bellagio. There are more to name but you can see them at those sites.

The weather will be great when you come but remember this is the desert and chills at night. Join all the Players Clubs because they usually give you free souveniors, and 2./1 meal deals, and later invites to come visit them and stay there.

Other must sees on/off the Strip are - Test Site Museum, Natural History Museum (UNLV), Madame Trouseaus (Paris), Fremont Street Experience (Downtown - not that great but other casinos).

Have fun. Enjoy my city!

Priceline.com has las vegas packages that could save you up to $325. I found a Priceline coupon, so you can activate this offer.

since you live in Milwaukee, you should check out Midwest Airlines. www.midwestairlines.com
Their hub and home base is Milwaukee so you should be able to find the best deals.

Travelocity or Expedia are good sites if you want to couple it with an airline ticket. Hotwire is good if you don't care which hotel you stay at.
