Date Rape. I think calling it "Date" Rape somehow makes it seem like a lighter version of rape when in fact it is anything but and sometimes worse because it is further a violation of trust from someone you know.

Another topic idea is use of the N word and whether it is appropriate in any context.

How about Heightism? There are some states in the USA have laws to protect people from being discriminated on the base of height. Exspecailly people with short stature. You could talk about how all states in the USA should adopt this, you could also talk about the UK who do not have laws to protect people who are discriminated with heightism . This will be something new and interesting topic where governments have not created awareness on this, therefore people with short stature are left behind in society and so find life is hard to improve as there are so many obstacles. You could also look into scientific studys on how height affect quality of ones life and dimishes the people who short stature. Hope that helps, take care :)

I go to an all girls school, so I would write about how people are sexist even today, since the whole point of my school is to give girls a chance to be themselves and excel without bothering with boys.
Also try gay marriages. What is really important, love or tradition?
When you write your essay you could have one paragraph supporting it, the other one not supporting it.
Good luck!!

What are your passions? Think back to arguments with your friends and go from there. There is politics, religion, race issues, immigration, death row sentencing laws, legalization of prostitution (that's a good one - I did a power point presentation and paper on it in college a couple years ago). Let me know what your passions are and I can give more suggestions.

I wrote one about global warming. I don't think that humans are causing it. If you look into it, there's a ton of information. Laviosior group is a group that looks into it. You could also do abortion. It's something most are passionate about, regardless of what you think about it.
