My school is having a party tomorrow and my teacher says that we're allowed to play any game we desire if we're able to install it. I'm wanting to play a game that requires directx 9c. The current versions on the computers at school are below 9c. I then thought I could simply install the new version, but the computers are setup so that the WINDOWS folder is completely unwritable to students. So I'm wondering if there's a way to install directx in a different folder that isn't int he windows folder. Or maybe a way to forward a folder containing the directx files to the actual directx folder inside windows. I'd be very greatly if I'd get a solution.

The teacher's exact words were if you can figure out a way to play it then go right ahead. FYI teacher = admin. See it's like a game of chess to him, he'll put up a wall and us students have to find a way around it. I simply just want to find a way around his wall with directx.

I wouldn't try because you Students are given Limited Accounts meaning you can't do such installations and removing of networked folders, unless you know and Administrator then no don't try. Sorry dude.

you cant. I usually delete the older folder and let the new one do all the work.
