I turn it one and it shows me screen for a second then goes black

Sounds to me that the problem lies either in the cable the connects from the PC to the monitor, or the port that the cable connects too. It tells me, from an IT point of view, that the monitor can sometimes pick up a picture. Double check that the cable is connected correctly. Also, clear the port on the computer of any dust or dirt.

If this doesn't work, either try to send the monitor back to the company to repair it (if it's under warranty), find a 3rd party company that could repair it, or purchase a new one.

Hi. The problem may not be the LCD. If you get ANY image the problem lies elsewhere. May be the drive or the hinge cable, for instance.
