Betternher is right - I'm sure she doesn't expect a gift from you of equal cost. She has to know you cannot afford it. I also agree with her that the gift of your time is, IMO, more precious than monetary gifts. Spending time with her one-on-one doing something she really enjoys would be a great gift. Do a spa day together, or if you cannot afford that, just give her a spa certificate so she go have a few hours at a spa. You can go to www.spafinder.com and order certificates of just about any price. Going to a tea is a great idea, I really enjoy having a tea with my buddies, even if it is at one of our homes. I hope this helps!

I'm sure she doesn't expect a gift of equal value. Maybe you could give her the gift of going out for tea together, your treat. I think spending time with someone is a wonderful gift. Good luck!

Tell her "Thank You for the gesture, but that's way too much." Then, discuss how much you'd like to spend on one another and stick to it!
