Alec Edward Eaton
or
Quinn Anthony Eaton

We are having the hardest time finding a girls name we both like...any suggestions (first & middle) Something uncommon but not to far out there.

Alec and Quinn are the first names for boys we like, I don't like Anthony as a first name. Although I agree it sounds almost runnon ish how often do you say the first and last name together? But if you listen closely it almost sounds like I like eat'n.

I could maybe deal with changing up Alec but Quinn is the name I've wanted for a boy for the past 8 years and that isn't going to change :/

I like all the names, but don't find them the most flattering with your surname. They do tend to run together.

Alec Eaton sounds like AleKeaton (and only serves to remind one of Alex Keaton LOL). And Quinn gives the last name more a "neaton" sound.

That's just a tough one to work with, I agree. :( But you might have slightly better luck with longer names. For instance, while Alexander Eaton still runs together a bit, I think the fact that it's a lengthier version takes the focus off the intersection of the first and last and places it firmly on the first name, instead. Hopefully that makes sense. Quinn is harder to mesh, since something like Quintus Eaton or Quincy Eaton is obviously no less problematic.

I'd simply try to find a few names with more than two syllables, to be honest. Seems to be your best bet (and may be why you're having trouble, both Alec and Quinn being obviously on the shorter side). Good luck! ;)

Edit: Just realized you were looking for girl name suggestions as well (sorry ... misread that the first time). The same would apply here. Something like ...

Cassandra - normally I'd avoid the back-to-back vowels, but since consonants seem to run into Eaton anyway, it might actually help here. ;)
Caroline
Amelia
Adelia
Elisabeth - ditto. Alliterative initials seem negligible, if you can find a name that simply works with the surname otherwise.
Julianne
Magdalena
Mary Jane
Victoria
Viviana

You get the idea. ;)

When I hear Quinn, I think of it being a girl name. I knew a few Quinns' who were female. I like Alexander Edward Eaton, but not Alec, it feels like theres no substance behind it.

For a girl I like:
Kendra Jade
Ramsey Catherine
Remington Jean (Remi)
Maycen Christine
Gia Louise

Good luck!
