A friend who is a real estate investor (she's new to the game) in Oregon tells me that Oregon law prohibits the auctioning of houses. I cannot imagine a reason for this and I'm wondering if perhaps she's misinformed.

Are any of you aware of such a law? She said it's reasonably new.

It appears that your friend is either confused or unknowledgeable. A quick check of the internet shows assorted counties in Oregon and their sheriff's sales of foreclosed properties. Those would be auctions, as far as I can tell. Oregon counties also have tax lien auctions.

There is a great place online where you can go to find out and actually chat with an Orgeon Auctioneer.

I'm a MA auctioneer and have found this site extremely useful
it's www.auctioncommunity.com
