I see so many young people here. Some want homework some want a contact? DO you think twice before you swear, rant, name call and behave like animals on the politics pages? One kid looked like a person we have here ? How do you know and many of us are old enough to know better.
SO please tell me. How can we improve this and avoid our own issues? BTW new laws include cyber space intimidation
NOT Harrasment just intimidate & it's all on line ! New Federal Laws beware !!
Just curious. Thanks for any input!

The young woman's parents had her computer monitored at all times. For her 14th birthday she wanted My Space. As it happened an adult concerned for her daughter posed as a male.
The day he said good bye she got the dress for her party. When the parents came home she hung herself in the closet.
The Mother of another female posted the false information. Already aware of her mental state.
To me this woman should be culpable for involuntary manslaughter. And now with National press be sure she will face charges.

Eww, no, I missed that one, but can easily see how it could happen.
How horrible!
I think we all need to be aware of how serious some of these posts can be to the poster. A few months ago I came across a question here by someone threatening suicide. Some posters encouraged the person 'to get it over with.' How could they? I will never understand and hate to think about how those answers may have affected the questioner.

The situation you mention is a real tragedy. The people of Dardenne Prairie, MO will have to determine a fitting punishment for the adults who engaged in this vile on-line behavior aimed specifically at harming this girl.
You are correct that too many people engage in internet viciousness completely inconsistent with how they would behave in person.
My prayers are with that girl and her family.

A lot of young people in Europe committed suicide after reading Sartre but those people already had severe mental issues. It is impossible to shield the mentally fragile from all aspects of society and when somebody is that unbalanced, anything can set them off. It is sad but those people should be monitored by those who know them.

Be aware of new laws, what? You want me to fear my gov. even more than i do now. I don't much care about laws that take away my right to speak my mind. On top of that, I cannot intimidate anyone, they can only choose to be intimidated or not, period. Quit using the children of this nation as a tool to get people to act a certain way, sounds very liberal, and I for one am sick of it as most of the things politicians do in the name of children hurt all our rights, especially the right to raise my children as I see fit.

I guess people do this because they feel stressed or angry about something and there are little violations when it comes to obscenity or violence. I don't know how exactly people act like animals.... Just strong opinions and it shows what we really think. Psycologically we as humans think that we are inherently right with our assumptions and we try to "fix" other people that have opposing views. This can lead to anger and frustation really quickly because we can't change other people, only they can change themselves.
