Why are you a Republican/Democrat?

I was a Republican from the time I started voting until part way thru Daddy Bush's term as president. I saw the beginnings of the right wing neocom movement and was disgusted by it. The senior Bush never said a word against it and seemed to think it was OK. I switched to Democratic at that point and do not regret my decision. I'm not saying I dislike all Republicans. I reapect Rudy Gullani and John McCain, the same candidates that the hard right detest.
