What is the poetics of a pencil?

I read a book called "The Thing" written by Martin Heidegger... It say abt the poetic of a jug. And now, i have to write essay about the poetic of a pencil... can anyone help??? thank you

You could talk about how, when you use a pencil what is written can be easily erased, if the pencil becomes blunt, it can be sharpened, how the user of the pencil is the creator of what is being created.

Let your imagination run. You can get many other ideas.
