The mass unit of the Atom and its components is determinine as follows.
One kilogram mass divided by loschmidt 's Number is equal to 1.66054187 x10^-27 kilograms . This is the quantity of mass of one atomic mass unit(Amu). It is almost equal to the mass of one free proton .

it's definitely amu (atomic mass unit).....i just learned it today in my physics class...not to be rude..but some of the answers you have for your question are incorrect..but some are correct.it's definitely amu.
