I was sure he would pick Jenni. He just said bye to both girls?! WTF?! He let them both walk away?

Susan- The thing is, EVERY season of "The Bachelor" promotes itself as "The most SHOCKING season ever!" It is just advertising! They say that all of the time, so how was I to know that this time it would be true?
Also,
Brad bought a ring! He said he is 100% sure in his decision, right after he bought the ring.
The show was completely misleading, and broke 2 girls hearts instead of 1 just for the ratings.
I do not think he had to propose at all. But with all of the "feelings" he claimed to have for both of them, and how torn he was, shouldn't he have given one a shot at a relationship, instead of saying he is back to square one?

I'm not shocked. They've told us ALL season that this was the most shocking final rose ceremony EVER! My friends & I decided weeks ago that either his final choice would say no or he'd bail. After last week, when he never said he was in love & just kept saying that he followed his heart, I knew that he wasn't going to pick either of them. I would have been more shocked if he had.
They kept saying a last minute decision changed everything. I think that he planned to propose to DeAnna, but standing there in that moment realized that it was all hype & his heart wasn't in it. I think that's why he walked away. I think he had to take a moment to decide if it was just cold feet or if he truly wasn't in love with her & he decided the latter.
I have a lot of respect for Brad to have not allowed himself to be pressured into a relationship. Where did we get the idea that a bunch of TV producers could select 25 people & that one of them HAD to be the PERFECT person for you?!?! That's nuts & that pressure is why most of "The Bachelor" relationships have failed.
I know those girls were hurt, but it would have hurt them A LOT more if he had chosen one of them to save face & then dumped them. Then everyone would have called him a jerk for leading them on. Give him some credit for realizing that this was going too far!
EDIT: They do promote most every season as "the most shocking ever", but this one from the outset noted that it would be the most shocking Final Rose Ceremony. The specific noting of the final rose ceremony was what helped me & my friends figure out how it would end.
I think Brad was certain until the moment he was standing there looking into DeAnna's eyes & trying to say the words. I think he planned to say "I love you" & the words wouldn't come or didn't feel right & he freaked out. I think he walked away to take a breath & try to calm himself & decide if it was cold feet or reality setting in. He apparently decided it was reality.
The premise of "The Bachelor" has ALWAYS been that he could walk-away at the end. It just so happens that he's the first to choose that option.
I have had VERY strong feelings for guys in the past & thought I was in love with them, because I was caught up in the moment or the momentum of the situation. In retrospect, at least a couple of those guys I was NEVER "in love" with & I did & do still love them. So I did have strong feelings for them, but they weren't romantic/marriage feelings. Once I realized my true feelings for them, I could have dated them for decades & nothing would have changed. I grant you that unfortunately Jenni may have truly gotten the shaft, because if he'd realized his feelings for DeAnna weren't going anywhere sooner, he may have been willing to try with Jenni, but I think he'd already let her go when he came to that realization.
I'm watching "After the final rose"...I think Jenni just made a valid point...I think he wanted & was looking for the romantic, idealized kind of love. I grant you that was naive & idealistic on his part, but that's part of the learning process & maybe he has now learned that.

I live in Texas... and have friends in Austin. For the past few weeks , he has been trying to keep a low profile there, but has been seen often with a pretty blonde. Seems like Brad fell in love... but not with Deanna or Jenni. And so it goes.

What the heck was the show thinking of letting him do this?
On the previews, he said that he didn't love either one.
Go figure. They've got a show on tomorrow night, so maybe we will find out some answers.

Seriously, what a jerk. I guess being on the show was just good publicity for him and his bar.
If he had feelings for both couldn't he have picked one and not proposed? Geesh... what a waste of my Monday nights

He didn't pick anyone. It's like he took a free ride at hot dates with lots of girls and then decided to stay a bachelor. He could have at least asked one of them to be his girlfriend, instead of just sending them on their way like he didn't care one wit about either of them.
