Speaking of pencils, I heard this little tidbit on the radio this morning. 75% of all pencils are yellow. Back in the late 1800's, most pencils were imported from China, who produced superior amounts of lead (gee..go figure!). Anyways, the real humdinger of the story was the reasoning behind the color yellow. The Chinese connect the color yellow to royalty, and...power. So all pencils were painted yellow and labeled "China"..to impress countries of the world.
