They have so little to be proud of....they think by turning Jesus into a liberal....they can have some vestige of credibility.
I have read my Bible pretty thoroughly....and I can't recall one instance where Jesus said....Thou shall have same sex marriages....kill my innocent unborn children...and allow 12 million people to break federal and state laws while turning the other cheek!
I would ask, if you are going to "Quote the Bible"...please read it....do not pick out one or two passages that "prove" your point, anyone who can read, can do that.
If you read one or two sentences per paragraph from "The Catcher in the Rye", do you really think your understand Salinger?

Read the Beatitudes in the Bible, the proof is there. He taught compassion, love, and caring for the poor. He said give up your materialism and 'follow me,' to be like him. This is something no con or GOP member will ever get or ever attribute to Christ. And, I've never said Pearl Harbor was an inside job, nor has any other liberal I know. Nor did I ever suggest 9/11 was an inside job. No liberal I know ever called FDR a neo-con. Where in the world are you getting your ill-informed information?

The few people I've ever heard claiming Pearl Harbor was an inside job were extreme neocons. Next thing I suppose you'll be claiming that FDR wasn't a liberal, either. Try reading the words of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and you'd have to agree that Jesus definitely taught love, compassion, peace, and caring for the poor. He was probably the original liberal.

i think of you're consistently treading on skinny ice once you start up asserting somebody exchange into the _most_ regardless of. yet i might easily describe Jesus as a liberal. He exchange into attempting to transform society and he challenged a super variety of social tabboos. Early church teachings have been certainly quite feminist for the time (vows of chastity allowed women human beings to flee unhappy marriages, some thing Roman women human beings had little say in, working example) and continued to project the social order (their early stance against infanticide flew interior the face of the Roman presumption of a father's absolute supremacy over his family contributors, working example).

1 - He was a liberal activist, performing civil disobedience against established rule. (healing on the sabbath, throwing out the money changers)
2 - I learned from republican parents years ago that fdr let Pearl Harbor happen as part of a plot to get us into WW Two. Not saying its true, but the story has been out there for over fifty years, honey, it is nothing new.

Jesus gave to the poor and healed people without any thought to their socio-economic status. He was a good man. That being said, Jesus did not play politics. Cons can not say that Jesus loves them or their veiws more than libs can. So everyone grow up. If you are truly Christian and live to personify Christ, you don't involve yourself in petty politics like this question.

It really appears that the biblical Christ followed along on a path of liberal enlightenment Chasing out the money lenders out of the temple for profiteering., Sermon on the mount ...I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Matthew 19:24.
The parallel versions appear in Matthew 19:23-24, Mark 10:24-25 and Luke 18:24-25.
THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS (Luke 16,19-31)
Jesus began his Sermon on the Mount with what is refereed to in scripture as the eight beatitudes. They read...
Beatitudes
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
The golden rule. The good Samaritan.
conservative I doubt it Conservatives make Christ in their image

This Liberal doesn't believe in that Jesus story, or any aspect of the Christian religion. So I'll be just fine and content with Conservatives claiming it.
PS
Like Jesus (if he actually existed) had some sort of political allegiance to Liberal or Conservative. (lol, although I bet there's some religious right who are actually ignorant enough to think he did).

To the individual who cited all the things Jesus did not tell man to do, he also didn't tell the president to declare war on Iraq! And to the person who has seen fit to declare all liberals godless and doomed to burn in hell, the Lord also said "Judge not, lest ye be judged!"
