Do you mind bringing the cranberry salad and maybe a pumpkin pie? Thanks a lot and looking forward to seeing you.

You need to know what everyone else is bringing and what the hostess is cooking so that you don't duplicate anything. Here are a few suggestions.
Homemade creamed corn
Green bean casserole
Apple/mince pie
Wine/champagne
Homemade rolls
Relish plate
Deviled eggs
Flowers
Cards and games to play after dinner.
Have a terrific Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

Debi... there was a time when I loved to do needle work, so when these occasions came up I would bring linen napkins with their initial embroidered on them... I've even painted on them for the holidays... I found that most people love something that you have put love into! Now they even have wine bottle holders in cloth that these things can be done with. It's a lot of fun and gives them something to treasure. I also like taking a special book on something they like, poems, photographs, hummingbirds, or the birds of the area, etc... and flowers always go over well... Generally folks go all out with the food, so unless they have asked you to bring something specific, do something unexpected! Just do it with love and consideration! Even if you Just Bring U... and big Hugs!!!

Just your appetite, we're going out to eat and it will all be ready for us when we get there. Then we can spend the rest of the day chatting and enjoying Thanksgiving day.

A real awareness of the hand of God in your life, and a heart filled with thanks to Jehovah Jirah, God who is our Provider and Sustainer...as directed by Abraham Lincoln, when he declared a National Day of Thanksgiving to God Almighty for His many bounties and blessings. Too doggoned many people just look at this day as a date for wolfing down amazing amounts of great food, watching football, and having family get-togethers. It is what it's named. Day of Giving Thanks to God. Be aware that in the depths of sufferings, we still have blessings, and that in the darkest of days, the love of God is with you, wooing you to closer relationship with Him that He may bless you more fully, grow you more wisely, and protect you and show you a love without end or blemish. May your Thanksgiving Day be filled with gratitude for all He has done for all of us, and with hope for a nation that is determined to exclude Him even though it so obviously NEEDS Him.

If not the turkey, maybe cranberry sauce, yams, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, Jello salad, coffee. soda, eggnog, and--perhaps best of all--yourself.
