What are things I need to know about a private school. It goes up to 12th grade.

I don't believe it to be accredited, but their comment to me was ' the kids are able to go to college'.

Is there any other questions I need to ask to make sure everything is legit?

Ask:

what percentage of the kids go to college, and which colleges they go to.

What kind of college counseling they provide.

How many kids take the SAT and ACT and what their average scores are.

How many National Merit Scholars they have.

If their teachers meet state certification standards, and how many teach in the subjects they are certified in (vs. an English teacher teaching History, for example).

About their code of conduct and discipline procedures.

Ask about the student vs teacher ratio too. If it's private, the class sizes should be smaller. My son's school has 12 kids per class plus a teacher's aid - that's one of the reasons he's in that school - more individual attention.

Discipline policy too, how do they handle situations and how do they enforce rules?

What percentage of the above graduate with a 4 year degree in 4 years?

What percentage of the above graduate with a 4 year degree in 5 years?

Getting into college does not mean that much if they flunk out.

If they discipline their students?

How they discipline their students?

Ask the local police what complaints they have received?

Ask the local better business buearea what complaints they have received?

Ask about background checks run on the staff including teachers?

Ask about educational background of the staff and teachers?

Ask about the pregnancy rate of their students over the past ten years?
