I would love to watch this movie, but I can not see a movie if an animal dies, I really hate crying.

I have just watched a secret screening of the movie, as part of a consumer-movie research group. The movie was great, and I highly recommend it.

A little bit about myself, I am 19 years old and currently reside in California. I have four dogs, cocker spaniels, a one year old terrier mixed, and a German Shepard. By the looks of it, I am a dog lover and I am somewhat active in the PETA community.

Back to the movie, the movie's elements was good, as it just showed Will Smith and the Dog, and their companionship for together. How Smith and the Dog found each other is really unique and heartwarming (I won't spoil it), but what you need to know is that you will be attached to the dog throughout the movie. With the dog dying in the movie, the answer is a GOOD yes. And when I mean a good yes, just think of Lassie and her actions of doing a LOYAL service to her owner. :]

I hope this helps. Anyway, just to let you know--Tommy, my German Shepard was right beside me when I was watching the film. He is our family's helper dog, as my brother is blind. :]

Take care. Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm just like that too, I'm really sad when animals die in movies. But it's not gory or nasty or anything like being beaten with a shovel. Yes, he has to kill the dog himself, but I didn't even know that he strangled the dog until I read that answer. It just looks like he was holding her down. Actually, what happened was the infected dogs attacked her, and Will Smith's character Robert takes her home then gives her a shot of something then holds her and sings to her. Then she starts growling (because she's turning into an infected dog) and he just holds her so that she can't attack him. I thought the shot was the thing that put her to sleep. He did it because he knew if she lived she would turn into one of the infected dogs. It was for her own good. His reaction to her dying is much sadder then her dying, truthfully. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was worried about that same thing when i saw the preview, but I saw it anyways. And I'm glad I did, it was a great movie. Sorry if i gave away more then you wanted to know if you do see it.

You know it seems like an amazing movie. On the previews I've seen something happen to the dog and it appears there are "infected dogs." I can't tell you for sure if he does die. I am currently reading the book. I will be done by Friday if you like I'll let you know if he does die in the book. But you have to keep in mind that Hollywood takes its liberties when it comes to book to movie films. And by the way I am going to see the first viewing of the movie so if you want to wait til then I am more than willing to let you know.

I imagine the dog will either die, become infected, or a combination of the two. I know how you feel, though; not wanting to see an animal die has kept me from watching a good number of movies.

In the 1964 version of this movie, the Last Man on Earth ( you can watch it on http://i-am-legend-trailer.blogspot.com ), the dog effectively died. I think it will be the same in this remake too.

I read the story it is based on.. and as I recall the dog did die.. Haven't watched the movie yet, however.

Idk but usually in movies like that I bet he dies. idk its just a guess, cuz will smith is being chased by those things and its likely that his dog falls behind.
